Dr. McCaul Butcher received her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and quickly realized the deficit in whole-body, complete care of the individual Nearly a decade of immersion in orthopedics and pelvic health paired with a drive to learn more have led to Dr. McCaul’s expertise and extensive training in orthopedics/sports and pelvic health.. As many do, Dr. McCaul experienced her own orthopedic injury as a PT, which led her down the road to seeking pelvic health rehabilitation, and she knew at once this was an obvious missing connection to care of orthopedic and sports injuries.
Dr. McCaul is an expert in perinatal wellness, understanding the importance of denormalizing abdominal separation, incontinence, symphysis pubis dysfunction, hip pain both during and after pregnancy, as well as best preparing the body for the vast physiological changes, labor, birth and fourth trimester. Across the lifespan, from high school and female athletes to perimenopause, Dr. McCaul seeks an evidence-based, hands-on approach for care, integrating a variety of masterful techniques for injury rehabilitation and prevention. Dr. McCaul is also passionate about health promotion and fitness and takes a whole body, movement system approach to care in order to help clients achieve their goals as quickly yet effectively as possible.
When she is not working, Dr. McCaul loves spending time with her family and two young sons. Additionally, she enjoys weightlifting, hiking, and taking trips to the beach with her family.
Dr. Maliha Khan received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Mary Baldwin University in Staunton, Virginia. She was born and raised in Northern Virginia, proudly treating pelvic floor dysfunction in her community. A GMU alumni with a B.S. in Kinesiology, Dr. Maliha has a strong understanding of the connections of the anatomical and physiological processes of pregnancy, menopause, and sports training in relationship to pelvic and perinatal dysfunction and movement systems. She discovered her love for pelvic floor physical therapy during her clinical rotations and has enjoyed treating patients with a variety of pelvic floor and non-pelvic floor conditions including but not limited to sexual dysfunction, bladder/bowel dysfunction, postpartum care, female athlete triad, and running-related injuries. A strongly versed manual therapist, Dr. Maliha incorporates a wide range of hands-on, manual therapy techniques integrated with breathwork, therapeutic exercise, and re-training the myofascial and musculoskeletal movement patterns to help return her clients to feeling their best.
When not in the clinic, Dr. Maliha enjoys running, skating, dancing, reading a good book, and spending time outdoors.
